Search Engines And Internet Advertising

Search Engines now do more than just gathering information and indexing websites. Today search engines are accountable for distributing a big percentage of ads across the Internet. Millions of people shop without leaving the comfort of their homes through the use of the Internet with search engines connecting them to sellers.

Advertising Programs

Google has programs that benefit website owners and advertisers called adsense and adword respectively. Yahoo has an affiliate program (Overture) that brings site owners and advertisers together. There are many such programs that are geared toward advertising products and services on the web; search engines run a lot of them. A few examples are Pay Per Click, Affiliate Programs and Ad Word

Soon MicroSoft will join the other two engines (Google and Yahoo) in the search engine advertising arena. Its advertising program is set to hit the web soon - we just have to wait and see.
